Google Fires Author of Anti-Woman Memo

Google's parent company has fired an employee who wrote a widely circulated memo that argued that women are "biologically" less likely to succeed in tech, and that woman-focused hiring and mentoring programs are harmful, Bloomberg reports. The memo's author James Damore was dismissed on Monday, after Google's CEO sent a company-wide email addressing portions of the memo that "violate our Code of Conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace." Damore confirmed to Bloomberg that he had been fired for "perpetuating gender stereotypes".
